VISION

ITU-BTS Digital Twin Application and Research Center aims to become a pioneering research and application center at the national level and a reference institution at the international level, conducting interdisciplinary research in the fields of digital twin technologies, artificial intelligence, cyber-physical systems, and advanced engineering applications.

The Center produces scientific outputs with high impact potential and transforms these outputs into public, private sector, and societal value. In line with this vision, it seeks to make a holistic contribution to Türkiye's knowledge-based development goals by developing strategic solutions within the framework of digital and green transformation.

Accordingly, ITU-BTS DIAM acts with the principles of academic excellence, industrial integration, and global impact orientation, aiming to position Türkiye as one of Europe's leading hubs in digital twin technologies and to establish itself as an active player in the global knowledge economy through international scientific collaborations.

MISSION

ITU-BTS Digital Twin Application and Research Center operates to institutionalize research in the field of digital twin technologies, transform scientific knowledge into applicable solutions, and strengthen the technology ecosystem through interdisciplinary collaborations.

By building an effective bridge between academic, public, and industrial stakeholders, the Center aims to enhance research infrastructures, train qualified human resources, and accelerate technology-based solution processes.

Aligned with its mission to transform accumulated knowledge into economic and social value in harmony with Türkiye's digital transformation strategies, the Center focuses on data integration, modeling, prototyping, standardization, decision support systems, advanced communication infrastructures, and sustainable smart city applications.

Through research, implementation, and capacity-development projects that create impact on both national and international scales, the Center supports the systematic and sustainable development of digital twin technologies.

Our Services

ITU-BTS Digital Twin Application and Research Center is a multi-stakeholder, high-impact research and technology development platform focused on advancing interdisciplinary knowledge in digital twin technologies and translating it into real-world applications and policy frameworks. Within its official mandate defined in the Official Gazette, the Center provides services to public institutions, private sector organizations, and academic partners in the following domains:

Research, Modeling & Application

  • Conducts theoretical and applied research in digital twin, artificial intelligence, and cyber-physical systems.
  • Develops novel algorithms, data-integration methods, and application-oriented solutions.
  • Implements modeling, simulation, decision-support, and real-time monitoring systems in domains such as 5G/6G, OpenRAN, net-zero energy, smart cities, sustainable transportation, water management, aviation, agriculture, and maritime industries.
  • Supports Industry 4.0 transformation through digital twin implementation, sensor/actuator-based monitoring, real-time analytics, and data-driven optimization.

Education, Certification & Capacity Building

  • Organizes theoretical and practical training programs, workshops, technical seminars, and short-term certified courses in collaboration with national and international universities.
  • Promotes student and faculty mobility through exchange programs, internships, research fellowships, and interdisciplinary mentorship initiatives.
  • Focuses on accelerating the adoption of digital twin technologies and cultivating next-generation human capital for technology-driven sectors.

Strategic Partnerships, Consulting & Technology Transfer

  • Establishes long-term strategic collaborations with public institutions, industry, and academia to co-develop digital twin-based transformation programs.
  • Provides consulting in technology feasibility, system requirement analysis, solution architecture design, and project management.
  • Supports the productization of research through prototyping, testing, validation, standardization, commercialization, and policy recommendation reports.
  • Contributes to national and international standardization and regulation processes in digital twin technologies.
